ME to WE

August 7th & 8th at 8pm, August 9th at 2pm

The Lyceum Theatre (Space Theatre)

79 Broadway Circle (Horton Plaza)- San Diego, CA 92101

transcenDANCE Youth Arts Project presents ME to WE, a CREATE program teen dance performance, in collaboration with the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) and The Good Planet Foundation.

This performance is the culminating event of an exploration into the themes of empathy and vulnerability that highlights youth voice, creative writing, and personal storytelling in a dynamic dance theatre performance.

Inspired by MOPA’s 7 Billion Others, “a ground breaking multimedia exhibition which brings voices and compelling video portraits from more than 6,000 individual interviews filmed in 84 countries by nearly 20 directors”, transcenDANCE student dancers embarked on a creative process that included technical dance training, team building, leadership development, and a unique expressive arts based psycho/social change curriculum.

The culminating performance features contemporary hip hop and modern dance pieces accompanied by live music and original media content by emota. Audiences will be deeply moved and entertained as the students’ journeys unfold onstage in an innovative dance experience that will be sure to carry with you long after you leave the theatre.
